Manufacturer’s Description
The High Standard GI 1911 is a 1911-style pistol built on a steel frame with a steel slide, and chambered in .45 ACP. Armscor built these guns in the Philippines, and High Standard and Lipsey‘s sold it as a Lipsey’s Exclusive. Note: High Standard also offers the very similar M1911, which it builds at its Texas plant.
Other GI 1911 features include:
- A lowered and flared ejection port;
- a beveled magazine well;
- checkered wood grips;
- fixed GI-style sights;
- a GI-style hammer;
- a beavertail grip safety;
- a left-side thumb safety;
- a flat, serrated mainspring housing; and
- a parkerized finish.
