SIG Sauer P226 X-Five Lightweight First Impression
The P226 X-Five Lightweight is a standout for its top-notch construction, combining a stainless steel slide with a hard coat anodized alloy frame for durability and a solid, well-balanced feel. Reviewers love the tight slide-to-frame fit, which boosts both accuracy and reliability, and the finish gets high marks for its sleek, uniform look. Ergonomics are another highlight, with custom wood grip plates that feel natural and secure in hand, giving you great control while shooting. Plus, the adjustable trigger lets you fine-tune the pull weight and overtravel, making it easy to tailor to your personal preferences right out of the box.
SIG Sauer P226 X-Five Lightweight Features
Picatinny Rail
The P226 X-Five Lightweight comes with a Picatinny rail, so you can easily slap on accessories like lights or lasers. It’s a great feature that adds versatility, whether you’re using it for tactical setups or competitions. Just keep in mind, that adding extra gear can make it a bit heavier to handle for some folks.
Hard Coat Anodized Alloy Frame
The frame on the P226 X-Five Lightweight is made from a hard coat anodized alloy, which means it’s tough, resistant to wear, and built to last. The anodizing adds extra surface hardness, so it can take a beating and keep going strong. On the flip side, while the alloy frame is lighter than steel, it doesn’t soak up recoil quite as well as heavier materials, which might be a dealbreaker for some.
Stainless Slide with Front Cocking Serrations
The stainless steel slide on the P226 X-Five Lightweight is all about durability and smooth performance. The front cocking serrations make it super easy to rack the slide or clear malfunctions, giving you better control when it counts. The downside? Stainless steel can scratch up pretty easily, so you’ll want to give it a little extra TLC to keep it looking sharp.
Ergonomic Custom Wood Grip Plates
The P226 X-Five Lightweight comes with custom wood grip plates that feel amazing in your hand, offering a comfortable, natural grip for better control and accuracy. They definitely add a classy touch, but keep in mind, that wood isn’t as tough as synthetic materials and might show wear if you’re putting it through tough conditions.

I’m not sure what these guys are talking about . 6.3 Stars? I want to know what other guns these guys are shooting to only rate it at 6.3 stars. This is flat out the coolest gun available. Okay, its too pretty for rough treatment, and light pull triggers are not best for home defense, but sometimes you just want the coolest one. Perfectly comfortable, perfectly accurate. The LW never had the ejector problem the L1 did. One friend who has a couple of high-end WC 1911’s says WC and NH’s has nothing on this gun.

I don’t know what they are talking about either. I have Wilson Combat, Nighthawk and many other high end guns. This gun is one of my favorites. Definitely a 10 star gun!!
