Taurus 24/7 OSS First Impression
The Taurus 24/7 OSS feels like it was made to fit right into your hand, with its lightweight design and comfortable grip making long shooting sessions a breeze. What really caught my eye, though, is the flat dark earth finish. It’s sleek, and stylish, and gives the pistol a bit of personality. Plus, it comes in a lockable carry case, which is always a nice touch. The solid construction and well-machined internals riding on steel rails just add to the overall confidence you get handling it—it’s a gun that feels as good as it looks.
Taurus 24/7 OSS Features
Ambidextrous Memory Pads
The ambidextrous memory pads help both left- and right-handed shooters get a consistent and stable grip. They’re great for promoting proper hand placement and giving you better control while firing. However, it could use more customization options since the fixed design doesn’t leave much room for personal tweaks. And while they work well, there’s a chance the texture could wear down over time, which might affect the grip quality. Still, they’re a handy feature that adds a lot of value for most shooters.
Ambidextrous Safety and Decock Levers
The ambidextrous safety and decocking levers on the Taurus 24/7 OSS are a game-changer for accessibility, making it easy to engage or disengage safety no matter which hand you use. It’s a thoughtful feature that adds an extra layer of safety and convenience. However, there are some cases where safety can accidentally engage during use, which could be frustrating in the heat of the moment. For newer shooters, the dual functionality might feel a bit overwhelming at first as decocking mechanisms can take a little getting used to. Still, for those who take the time to get comfortable with it, this feature offers solid versatility.
Aggressive Checkered Grip
The aggressive checkered grip on the Taurus 24/7 OSS is a standout feature, giving you a rock-solid hold even in tricky conditions like sweaty or wet hands. It’s especially handy during rapid or high-stress situations where stability is everything. However, the texture might feel a bit rough for some, especially during long shooting sessions or concealed carry. Plus, the pronounced grip could snag on clothing when drawing from a holster, which might slow you down a touch. Still, for anyone who prioritizes control and security, this grip gets the job done.
Extended Magazine Bumpers
The extended magazine bumpers on the Taurus 24/7 OSS are a practical touch, making mag changes quicker and easier with their extra grip surface. This can be a real lifesaver in competitive shooting or self-defense scenarios where every second counts. On the flip side, the added bulk might not sit well with those who prefer a sleeker, more streamlined setup. And if you’re into aftermarket accessories, you might run into some compatibility hiccups with the extended bumpers. Still, for anyone prioritizing speed and efficiency, these bumpers are a solid addition.

The Taurus 24/7 OSS packs a lot of thoughtful features into one reliable package. From the aggressive grip that sticks with you through sweaty palms to ambidextrous controls that play nice with both lefties and righties, it’s built for versatility and performance. Sure, a few quirks like potential snagging or accidental safety engagement might give you pause, but nothing a little practice won’t fix. Whether you’re hitting the range, competing, or just want a solid self-defense companion, this pistol has your back. It’s a little rugged, a little refined, and all about giving you control when it matters most.

excellent rapid fire pistol
very accurate pistol
I honestly have shot a ton of Tactical 45acp handguns & I have to say the R & D that went into this gun & the spec ops influence it took in for the design made one hell of a handgun. A lot like the high end guns I shot, you can feel the quality. Everything about screams RUN & GUN!!! Iran it dry, dirty, under water, full of mud, it just kept going strong. The ergonomics are spot on, I never had to readjust my grip for any reason, the targetting was smooth & the design definitely helped with recoil. My 6 year old loved shooting it.
